    Bishop's Tawton is a small, attractive village in the valley of the River Taw with a population of around 1,200. Surrounded by farms and woodland, the village has a 14th century church, a thriving pub, a primary school, and is home to several small local businesses. Located just three miles south of Barnstaple, Bishop’s Tawton is in easy reach of Exmoor National Park and the beautiful North Devon coastline and beaches. Whether you are looking for countryside walks, retail therapy or days on the beach, River Bank is the perfect spot.

    Perfect for young families

    Bishop’s Tawton has its own primary school and pre-school and is within reach several excellent secondary schools. The village provides access to many fine walks including the Tarka Trail that winds through the beautiful wooded valley. There are plenty of options for family days out, too. The Funderzone soft play area is less than two miles away, and nearby Barnstaple has swimming pools for all ages, as well as the Air Extreme trampoline park. For young animal lovers, Exmoor Zoo is less that 30 minutes away by car.

    Easy access to the Southwest, Bristol, and London

    The thriving market town of Barnstaple is less three miles away and provides excellent access to shops and activities. The North Devon link road (A361) gives good access to the M5 motorway at Junction 27 with intercity rail connections to London Paddington in just 2 hours from Tiverton Parkway.

Barnstaple, North Devon’s largest town, is just seven minutes away by car, and offers plenty of opportunities for retail therapy.
